IITMAANA was founded in 1980 to represent the IIT Madras alumni in North America.
It was one of the first to establish a web presence back in 1994. The organization started with an enthusiastic group of IITM alumni volunteers primarily based in Houston. IITMAANA was registered as a non-profit organization in Houston, Texas. Over the years, IITMAANA has grown both in terms of its membership and the projects. Currently, it serves alumni from the North American continent and interacts closely with several related alumni organizations.
IITMAANA acts as an umbrella organization for many of the North American alumni organizations of IIT Madras alumni. Although we are co-locating with IITMAA under the iitmaa.org domain for the purposes of sharing the portal features, we are an independent organization, with our website at www.iitmadras.org.
