  I am a Third year B Tech Computer Science student.

  I maintain my hostel's website, located at http://hostels.iitm.ac.in/jamuna.
• What he sees his Role as the Alumni Affairs Secretary of Jamuna to be...
  As Alumni Affairs Secretary of Jamuna I would like to spread the word and get more alumni get involved with the hostel. My job is mainly to keep in touch with the existing alumni who had been a part of Jamuna. We started building our alumni database from scratch a few years ago, and currently have expanded our web to include many alumni. However, I feel that there are many more alumni who would actually like to get in touch with this wonderful place where  they had spent their years at IIT, but are unaware of this Alumni Association existing at a hostel level. I would really like the ex residents of Jamuna to get in touch and know of the present state of the hostel and the various events and issues that would have meant so much to them.

• His perception of Alumni ...
  Our Alumni do great stuff to the institute and it inspires us to do the same when we get the chance. And it also inculcates a sense of pride in us. It also influences our relationship with the institute by knowing how close our alumni consider themselves to be to the institute.
• What he would like to see happen in the Alumni Association ...
  We would like more interaction between the students and the Alumni Associations. This can be achieved by setting up webistes which have forums that enable us to get in touch with alumni so that we can share our views and problems. iitmaaglobal.com would be very helpful in this context. We would also like Alumni Associations to enlighten the alumni about the various associations that exist at student and hostel levels.
