Hexaware Technologies has announced that P.K. Sridharan, executive director and chief mentor, has been assigned the role of the acting CFO of the company and its subsidiaries.
This announcement follows the resignation of the current CFO, Rajesh B. Ghonasgi.

Microsoft India has opened a laboratory at Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) that will give students access to the company’s latest Windows technologies. It has invested Rs.90 lakh in the facility, which will be used by graduate, postgraduate and research scholars of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering departments.  This new IITMAA website, based on emerging Web 2.0 technology, implements the Association's mission: Thrust 1 - Connect Alumni, and Thrust 2 - Serve Alumni, as directed by Srini Nageshwar, IITMAA President.
Our goal is to bring together all 29.5K alumni together on this portal by July 31, 2009, which marks the Golden Jubilee Anniversary of IIT Madras. The site is community-oriented and is focused on bringing us together. It will enable us to work together in order to provide value to each other.

 Prof. M.S. Ananth, Director of IIT Madras, will be visiting many Alumni in different cities in the USA this week. This is Prof. Ananth’s first visit to the US after his extension of his second 5-year term in July 2007. IITMAANA is organizing a series of Alumni meetings with the Director in Chapters in different cities. The Director has always been keenly interested in building and maintaining strong relationships with IIT Madras and Alumni. This is a great opportunity to meet with the Director and learn about his vision for IITM, its Students, Faculty, and Alumni and the exciting things he has planned for the future.

A clutch of innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers are heralding a revolution that combines the academic and the real world within the IIT Madras campus.
It is almost six in the evening when I rush in to meet Professor M Kumaravel in his office at IIT Madras. But the senior faculty member brushes all excuses of being held up by his colleagues aside, ready instead to talk about his work and his association with former President of India, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam.
“I met him early this week along with some American scientists for a brainstorming session on how to place photovoltaic solar panels in space to capture energy from the sun to send back to a dish on earth.”
